PAC-Polyaluminium Chloride
Description
Overview
PAC and PAM are common chemicals for wastewater treatment. PAC is a coagulant and flocculant used in water and wastewater treatment to remove suspended solids, organic matter, and other impurities. It is derived from aluminum chloride and is available in various forms, such as liquid or powder, with different levels of basicity.
Principle
PAC works by neutralizing the negative charges on suspended particles, allowing them to aggregate and settle out of the water. It is particularly effective in treating turbid water and is often used as a primary coagulant in wastewater treatment plants.
Application
The practical application of PAC can eliminate bacteria, odors, fluoride, aluminum, chromium, oil, turbidity, heavy metal salts and radioactive pollutants. It has a wide range of uses in the process of purifying various water sources.
- A. Purify domestic drinking water and domestic sewage.
- B. Purification of industrial water, industrial wastewater, mine and oilfield reinjection water, metallurgy, coal washing, leather and various chemical wastewater treatment, etc.
- C. Industrial production applications: sizing in papermaking, bleaching and dyeing in printing and dyeing, cement accelerator, hardening agent in precision casting, adhesive for refractory materials, glycerin refining, anti-wrinkle treatment for fabrics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other industries. The wastewater can be recycled.
Physical and Chemical Properties
Appearance: Yellow/White Powder
Al2O3 Content % ≥28.0
Basicity %40.0-95.0
pH(1% Water Solution)3.5-5.0
Water Insolubles % ≤1.0

Performance
1.The water quality purified by PAC is superior to that treated with aluminium sulfate coagulant, and the water purification cost is 15-30% lower compared to it.
- The flocs form quickly and settle rapidly, and its treatment capacity is greater than that of traditional products such as aluminium sulfate.
- The consumption of alkalinity in water is lower than that of various inorganic coagulants, so no or less alkali agent needs to be added.
- It can coagulate within the source water pH range of 5.0 to 9.0.
- It has low corrosiveness and good operating conditions.
- Its solubility is superior to that of aluminium sulfate.
- The increase in salt content in the treated water is minimal, which is conducive to ion exchange treatment and high-purity water production.
- Its adaptability to the temperature of source water is superior to that of inorganic coagulants such as aluminium sulfate.

Precautions
Packaging, storage and transportation, and precautions: Store in a cool and dry place. The storage period is twelve months. When operating, pay attention to labor protection. The product should be stored in a cool, dark, well-ventilated and dry place, and moisture prevention should be noted.
